Qarqub: Brocade Makers
Date: mid-twelfth century
In his Nuzhat al-mushtāq fi ikhtirāq al-afāq, al-Idrisi (d. 1164) refers to a brocade called al-qurqubi, also known as al-khurd. This was made with gold threads. See also: Weaver; Tailor; Embroiderer.
