Basra: Metal Vessels Makers

Date: 688-689

This is a bronze ewer made in Basra by Ibn Yazid and dated 69 (688-89). It has a Kufic inscription on the rim of a high neck providing this information and offering good wishes (baraka). Other features of the vessel include a grooved body, a conic base, and filigree palmetto on the handle.
